2007/2008 Trial Season

1.  Our 2007/2008 season started off with a bang. I traveled to the Lone Star Region and ran Rusty in a Double/Double trial. On the first day (9/8/07) Rusty took a 1st and 3rd place. This earned him 4 points, leaving him one short of his first championship. His 1st Place finish was a very impressive 8 bird run.

The next day Rusty had a very nice 6 bird run taking another 1st Place and earning his NSTRA Championship, with two points toward his second championship.

I need to brag a little on Pepper too. I ran her on the second day only, just three weeks after weaning her pups and she had a very nice run, earning a 3rd place finish.

2.  On 11/3/07, Pepper took 1st place, at Bartlesville, Ok. This was Pepper's first, 1st place finish after several close calls.

3. On 11/10/07, Rusty took another first at Anna, Texas (Lone Star Region).

4. The first two weekends of the Spring Trial season started with me judging my first two trials, one day each weekend. It also should be noted Pepper finished 2nd both days that I didn't judge. This gives Pepper 14 NSTRA points. She now needs just two 1st place finishes for her Championship.

5. On Feb. 24th, at Bartlesville, Rusty placed twice by taking a 2nd on A Field and 1st on B Field.

The trial season ended on a good note. Rusty had 4 nice runs at the Region Elimination Trial taking 1st Runner-Up (Reserve Champion), barely missing out on the championship.

Rusty now has 31 points with 27 of them being 1st Place Points. This makes him just 5 points short of his second championship. Rusty has accomplished a lot before the age of 3.
